Internationally, we need de-escalation and negotiation. At home, we need to de-escalate the rhetoric and the partisan divide, and start thinking big again. We don't need dictatorship nor do we need empty theater--we need a new type of leadership.
We have emergencies abroad, nationally, and all across our district: public safety, homelessness, and economic insecurity. These are not just local problems. We need large-scale federal support and action, in the manner of the FDR Administration and strong negotiating abilities, like those of the Kennedy Administration. We need a bold, modern public works program—a humane, disciplined, and purpose-driven effort to end the homeless crisis, starting right here in the heart of L.A. Like Franklin Roosevelt's New Deal during the Great Depression, today's New Deal would create jobs rebuilding our infrastructure, cleaning up our communities, and giving people real skills and dignity.
We can put thousands of unemployed and underemployed people to work on these emergencies--all with federal support to local governments, businesses, and viable non-profits. We need to stop blaming other nations for America's decline and invest in our own people, our own communities.
Where are we going to get the money, you ask? THIS is what money/public credit is for! It’s not for bailing out the globalist banks. Congress has the mandate and power to regulate commerce and to “coin Money, regulate the value thereof”, according to the U.S. Constitution. The only way to stop inflation is to reconnect the dollar and investment to real productive activity here at home.
The Federal Reserve can be reformed, by Congress. The banks can be re-regulated, by Congress. We can support community banking again, putting money back into the pockets of community members. Congress can and must act on these matters. Rob Lucero helped to produce the National Infrastructure Bank (NIB) bill that has been introduced into Congress, co-sponsored by nearly 50 Members and supported by local officials around the country.
This bill and this way of thinking can simultaneously solve our national debt problem, our infrastructure deficit, and our housing shortage. Similar legislation has been discussed by Republican Senators, who Rob can work with. Rob Lucero will lead the fight to fundamentally change the culture in Congress, liberating the House from an era of complacency. Rob is proud to be able to work with Republicans, Independents, and Democrats alike.
Let's put Rob Lucero in Congress!
